Lost my car key! Locksmith? Dealer? Ebay?
I have a 2005 Dodge Neon and lost my only key for it. I called the dealer and they are asking a LOT of money for a knew key (it’s one of those expensive chip keys), plus programming, plus I would need to TOW my car to the dealership, which is going to cost another small fortune.
I’m about to have a baby and I’m on an extreeeemely tight budget. I really can’t afford this right now.
What’s the cheapest way to go about this? Can I buy a blank key on Ebay and have it cut and programmed for cheaper? Should I have a locksmith cover the entire thing? Or just suck it up and go to the dealer?
Heeeellllppp.
They said I have to tow my car there because they need the car there to program the new key.
I hate to tell you, but you will need to go to the dealer for the key, it has the anti theft chip in it, and they will need to program it.
